Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 1, 2026

Earthasium is a free globe of public Earth data. You can use all of it without an account or any personal details. We don't sell personal data, show ads, or build profiles.

What We Collect

  • Nothing to sign up for. There are no accounts, and Earthasium sets no cookies for visitors.
  • Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser details with each request. They're used only to deliver and protect the site, and short-lived logs are deleted within a week.
  • Limits on the forms. To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date. It can't be turned back into your address, and old codes are cleared out after a day.
  • What you send us. If you use the Contact or Corrections form, we keep what you write, with your email address only if you give one, so we can read it and reply. We never publish it, and we delete it if you ask.
  • Your location, only if you ask. Show My Location uses your browser's permission prompt. We round the location to about 11 km before anything uses it, and only that rounded point leaves your device: to our server, to find data near you, and to a third-party weather data provider. We don't keep it beyond the short-lived logs above.
  • Settings on your device. Your browser keeps a few settings, such as your units, on your device. They never leave it.

Third Parties

  • Data providers. The globe loads public images and data straight from the agencies that publish them, such as NASA, NOAA and USGS. Like any website, they see your IP address when your browser asks for their files. Details for a place come from a third-party weather data provider, which receives that place rounded to about 11 km.
  • Bot check. The forms use a third-party check that a person, not a program, is sending. It may process your IP address and browser details for that purpose.
  • Hosting. A third-party provider runs our servers and handles requests on our behalf.

We don't share personal data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
